Your Ski Boot Dryer: Best Value on the Planet
February 2nd, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedA ski boot dryer is in my opinion the most vital ski accessory ever invented.
It’s perfectly horrible having wet feet at any time, and having to endure wet feet all day… and then trying to dry out your boots overnight… and then putting your tender little tootsies into wet boots the following morning has got to be the most off-putting thing in the world.
Fortunately, that’s not only unpleasant, it’s unecessary.
It’s easy to get ski boot dryers which will give you lovely warm dry boots every day; and you will find a wide range of affordable dyers like that featured here on our pages at MySkiBoots
Do I really Need a Ski Boot Dryer? Isn’t It a Luxury?
Back in the bad old days, when your feet got wet and cold the best option was to head for the parking lot, climb into your car, strip off your wet ski socks, dry off your feet, warm them in the warm air stream from your vehicle’s heater, change into fresh socks, and go back to the slopes.
That kind of palaver, thankfully, has gone the way of the Dodo. For a start, modern ski boots stay a lot drier than the old kind did.
There are lots of things you can do to keep your feet warm and dry all day.
At extremely modest cost, you can get hand and foot warmers to put into your boots and gloves which will keep you toasty warm for hours. After all, you’re spending a lot of money to enjoy yourself on the slopes, which will all be wasted if you don’t enjoy yourself, so why hesitate? Check out the low prices for a large boxful of footwarmers!
You can also get special insoles which will draw away all that nasty melting ice, keeping your feet at least dry-ish.
You can even buy special boot gaiters to wrap from boot-top to knee, which ought to stop ice filtering into your boots in the first place.
So, you say, why do I need a boot drier? because the best kinds are portable and can be used to dry more skiwear than just your boots…
Should I Get a New or Used Ski Boot Dryer?
The choice is yours! You need go no further than Amazon to get virtually any skigear - new or used - at very affordable prices. Another great place to look for ski accessories is in the Auctions at eBay. But I think that you’ll find that Amazon’s ski boot dryer prices are as good as the auction prices or better, plus you can simply buy whatever you want secure in the knowledge that they have a no-quibble guarantee. Why not check out both stores?
OK, So How Much Does a Ski Boot Dryer Cost?
I think that you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn just how affordable keeping your feet cozy warm can be! Used ski boot dryers cost only a few dollars; and you can usually pick up a brand new dryer for around $50 or less. We always feature the Ski Deal of the Day and Lightning Discounts - so that if there’s a Special on dryers, you’ll be able to take advantage of it right away…
And if you’re counting your pennies in order to afford a qucik extra trip to the mountains, you could always consider taking out a new crdit card, lots of them are interest free for a while.
All in all, I think once you’ve tried it, you’ll agree with me that a ski boot dryer is the most indispensable ski accessory ever!
Good Luck keeping your feet warm!

Your New Ski Boots: Getting The Right Fit!
February 1st, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedGetting the right fit when choosing new ski boots is easier today than it ever was before. Flex measurement is now a scientific art; and you can use measurement charts to make sure that you get a perfectly fitting skiboot even when you’re ordering online.
The same techniques for ensuring a good fit work equally well when choosing snow boots or snowboarding boots, because the criteria for your choice will be the same whichever type of snow sport boot you want to buy.
Finding the Perfect Skiboot
To ensure an enjoyable day on the slopes it’s critically important to make sure that you buy boots which fit just right.
The right size of boot for you will depend on whether you are buying boots which already have a cozy thermal or fur lining, or whether you prefer to keep your feet warm by using foot warmers or extra ski socks!
If socks are your choice for keeping warm, then you will need to buy a very slightly larger size of boot than would otherwise be the correct size for you.
Buying the exactly right size ski boot is essential.
If your skiboots are fractionally too small you’ll be uncomfortable, and your balance may be affected, which will make it much harder for you to ski comfortably and well.
On the other hand, if you buy a boot which is very slightly too large, your feet will get blistered and your toes will hurt because your foot will slide around very slightly in the boot, and your toes will keep on getting stubbed every time that happens. So a boot which is very slightly too large can ruin your turning technique.
Take Your Time Choosing
If you love shopping, great. But if hunting for a good fitting pair of ski boots sounds like a scenario straight out of a nightmare (I sooo detest shoe shopping) then let your fingers do the walking!
Yes, in the final analysis you will have to take time to get the right fit by actually trying your boot on, but you can do a lot of the hunting virtually.
All the really good boot manufacturers have websites; and offer online catalogs and measurement charts by download or through the mails, so you can get a very good idea of what will be the the perfect boot for your budget, sense of style and degree of skill and ambition just by hitting a few keys on your computer.
We aim to help you with that by providing news, reviews and updates on some popular choices from a number of skiboot suppliers.
